1963 Ford Falcon
This rare classic 1963 Ford Falcon Convertible came to us from Traverse City Michigan. The owner is deployed in Afghanistan in the military. It is here for a restoration of body then paint. This car was driven from Michigan to Tennessee by relatives of the owner. That says much about the mechanical integrity of the car. Here is a story that was given to us about the history of the Falcon.
This is a 63 Falcon Futura from The Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It was purchased from its former owner during the winter of 09/10. When Melissa went to test drive the car and make an offer the owner said that it would be an injustice to try out a convertible with the top up. February in the snow-belt along the frozen shores of Lake Michigan with 3 feet of snow the Falcon went for a trip with the top down complete with coats, scarves, hats, and mittens. The 170cc strait six Falcon had 30,000 original miles on it when it was purchased that winter. The majority of its life it has been garaged kept but the current owners don’t plan on keeping it in the garage....... at least not in the summer.
The falcons body work went smooth and was soon in primer. The underside was cleaned and under coated. Once paint the front and rear suspension was rebuilt and re-installed. The motor was cleaned along with transmission and re-installed. The car is going back together.
