1954 Buick Skylark
This 1954 Buick Skylark has become the flag ship for our restoration shop here in Cookeville, Tennessee. The numbers matching car was literally a total basket case that was started by another shop. Once the car arrived from Maryland, many parts had to be sorted out and it was found many hard to find parts were missing. Through endless searching all parts were located. The 322 Nail head Buick mill was professionally rebuilt in house as well as rest of the drive train. The body was placed on our rotisserie and received extensive tedious labor smoothing the old body back into shape. The chassis was restored back to 100 % original and the once the body was dropped back on the final Turquoise Blue paint and White fender liner scheme was applied.
Once the stainless trim and chrome were applied the finish product turned out stunning to the eye. When the top was dropped outside the car was drop dead awesome. The car is number 245 out of 836 produced and it could be this is the nicest 54 Skylark left in the world.
After special invites and showings at Lexington, and Louisville, Kentucky the car was shown at AACA meets in Lebanon, Tennessee and Nashville Tennessee. The car then made a trek to Hershey, PA. to the 2009 AACA fall meet. There it won first place and was nominated for the Bomgardner Award, and in January of 2010 it was announced it had won the prestigious award. The award basically is for the Best Restored Car in the Eastern division of the AACA out of 5000 entries.
The same quality goes into every vehicle we restore.
