1967 Corvette
The owner of this 1967 Corvette from Cookeville, Tennessee drove this to our shop stating that it needed work. The car was clean but had some blemishes. Down deep it had dirt like all old original cars. The owner requested a frame-off restoration. After the body was lifted off, the car started to reveal why it was a good idea to go this route. The frame had stress cracks. The body had stress cracks. Mechanically, the engine was the correct motor that needed to be rebuilt, and the transmission was incorrect for car. The body was reworked, repaired, and smoothed out. All mechanical items were rebuilt or replaced. Our Muncie Transmission Pro set us up with correct date-coded transmission. The stainless was polished and the chrome re-plated. The owner purchased all new interior and a convertible top. After six months, the coupe was completed and ready for an indoor car show in Nashville, where it placed first in its class. With the motor balanced and blueprinted, the 350-horsepower 327 sounds awesome through the factory side pipes.
