1970 Ford Torino Cobra Fastback
This 1970 Torino Cobra was found next to a burned-down service station along old highway 56 in middle TN and was spotted by the distinctive "Shaker Hood Scoop." The VIN # was recorded and a few months later was decoded to find out the old Torino was a true J-Code with a 429 Cobra Jet, four-speed, Hurst Shifter, ram air, and posi-traction. The car was initially purchased to resell the high-performance items on the car. Upon disassembly, it was found that this car had a full numbers matching drive train, which was original to the body. A "Marti Report" was ordered and the information documented the rarity. As Kevin Marti states, this is a "One of One" auto for the way it was ordered. This was due to lack of any creature comfort options, with only “go-fast” items. It was decided to restore this vehicle to new or better than new standards.
Every piece of this car was touched during the restoration process, and any parts that needed to be replaced were done so with NOS parts, including all of the clear glass.
This Torino Cobra, "A True Muscle Car", was brought back to life and driven in 10 months.
The Cobra has been on Spike Channel's "Power Block" TV show and is scheduled for high-end car shows in 2009. The car is for sale and the price is $91,500. Call Al Morgan at 931-520-7585 for more details.
