Midsouthern Restorations

1976 Cadillac Eldorado

Cadillac’s are turning into our specialty. You can check out the previously completed ones in the GM section of this site. We have an out of state customer that has two of these cars in here has of this writing. This one came from west Texas and is a rare one. Only 200 were built. This is a Bi-Centennial 1976 Cadillac Eldorado with only 13800 original miles. The car is powered by the famous 500 cubic inch motor and is front wheel drive. This is a perfect time to restore this car to new status. The weather stripping is dry rotted and there is some minor surface rust. Mechanically this is a tight vehicle. It drives like a dream. When complete this will go home to its new owner in Kentucky and he vows to put some mileage on it.

The Eldorado was photographed much to show the factory horrible body gaps that were present on this car. In the restoration business there is always a discussion on “How It Came from the Factory” With only 13,000 miles on odometer this one shows you. The owner decided to clean up where the GM boys fell short. All the gaps will be adjusted. The Texas sun and dirt has taken a small toll on the body. All the chrome will be re-plated. The top had shrunk and will be replaced. Minor rust was found along with a leaking heater core. The motor was cleaned, detailed and tuned up. The body was straightened and is ready for new paint. The undercarriage will be steam cleaned, scrubbed and under coated.
